On Wednesday November 13th we will be celebrating and supporting Senior Brayden Viveiros as he officially signs and commits to Thomas College. We look forward to following his future success.

Attention Milton School District families. In observance of Veterans Day, there will be no school for Milton School District students on Monday, November 11th. Thank you to all members of our community who served in defense of our country.
Students in our Spanish Classes are working on meeting the standards of World Ready Language 5 C's (Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities) They recently learned about “Día de los Muertos” and “La Ofrenda”
“Día de los Muertos” or “The Day of the Dead” is a holiday centered around family. They may spend days preparing the dishes for the family feast as well as assembling the “Ofrenda” or “Offering Altar”. The “Ofrenda” traditionally features photos of deceased loved ones, objects they treasured in life, and often their favorite foods. Other traditional items include water, to quench the thirst of the spirits who have traveled such a long way to be with family, salt to represent the flavor of life, and many different fruits and vegetables to symbolize abundance. Another important element for the celebration is the myriad candles that decorate not only the “Ofrendas” but the rest of the home, the cemeteries and gravesites, these are to help light the spirits’ way on their journey. Last, but certainly not least for the Ofrenda are marigolds, known as the “flower of the dead.” The bright yellow-orange flowers are used all over the ofrendas, gravesites, and homes to represent the eternal glow of the sun. Moreover, thousands of brilliant petals are laid out as paths for loved ones to follow on their journey home.
“Día de los Muertos” is a sacred, cultural tradition in Mexico with roots in its pagan past of the Aztecs and the Maya. Contrary to popular belief “Day of the Dead” is not Mexican Halloween but a joyful yet reverent remembrance of loved ones who have passed on. According to tradition, the more we think of our dead loved ones and share stories about them with our families-they never truly die.
On Tuesday, November 12th we will have our Veterans Day Ceremony at Nute starting at 7:30 am. Students will report to their SSR for attendance first. We would like to invite any community Veterans to join us to be recognized and stay for a small breakfast following the assembly.
Hi Rams! This is your Ram Reminder that Quarter 1 grades close on Friday, November 15th.
The Family and Consumer Science Classes (FCS) will be hosting the bake table during elections on Tuesday. If you could bake something for us to sell that would be great. Also, encourage your students to work a two-hour shift at the table. They will receive community service for their time. Please let me know if you will be sending something in or if they will be volunteering to help out. We are hoping to get some great things in the FCS room.

Our Nute Athletics Fall Sports Night will be on Wednesday, November 13th at 6 pm.
Tomorrow, we are proud to be one of many NH Schools participating in Apply NH Day.
With the support of Granite Edvance we will be giving students direct access and support to apply to college or a career preparation program, we help them become more confident in their application process and encourage them to explore all options. While the main focus of this campaign is the first-generation college student population, all seniors at participating schools are welcome — regardless of their plans. This campaign also supports larger state goals of encouraging students to pursue post-secondary education and achieve career success right here in New Hampshire.
Our PTA is hosting its annual craft fair in the gym at Nute on Saturday, November 2nd from 9 am-2 pm. More than 20 local crafters, artisans, and small businesses look forward to sharing their work with you. The gym with go from a craft fair to a RAM RAVE for the PTA-hosted Middle and High School Dance from 6 pm-9 pm. Please bring a nonperishable food item to donate as the entry fee.

This week chemistry will be working on the Glow Baby Halloween Lab (explaining and testing why a glow stick glows). Physical Science will be conducting their Smashing Pumpkins Halloween Lab (testing the mass and force of an object dropping out the second-story window, and engineering a contraption to ensure the safety of the pumpkin).
Forensic Science will be extracting DNA next week using Gatorade and pineapple juice.

Red Ribbon Week is celebrated annually from October 23-31 to highlight the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. During Red Ribbon Week, youth and adults around the nation pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse, including prescription drug misuse, and renew their commitment to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The dress-up theme for Nute tomorrow is "Lei off drugs", we look forward to seeing everyone in their tropical outfits.
